When Slate Auto revealed its electric truck in April 2025, it promised a starting price below $20,000 after incentives. The model quickly attracted attention from budget-conscious buyers and EV enthusiasts alike. The truck is expected to feature a 52.7 kWh battery paired with a rear-mounted electric motor generating 201 hp and 264 Nm of torque. The standard battery should offer a 241 km range, with an optional 84.3 kWh pack extending it to 386 km. Fast charging capability (120 kW DC) is said to enable a 20-80% charge in under 30 minutes.
Standard equipment is intentionally basic, including 17-inch steel wheels, manual crank windows, and a universal phone mount for infotainment purposes. The company has highlighted loveral safety features, such as active emergency braking, forward collision warning, and up to eight airbags.
