Bentley has released new details about the upcoming Torcal, focusing on a feature called the Curation Engine and providing another look inside the electric crossover. Rather than functioning as a conventional set of drive modes, the system is designed to change the atmosphere of the cabin according to different moods and situations. It coordinates lighting, sound, climate, air quality and the amount of digital information shown to occupants.
Bentley says the Curation Engine is grounded in sensory neuroscience and will offer four distinct settings. Bentley Mode serves as the default configuration and is intended to create a warm, dynamic and balanced environment. The teaser indicates that the ambient lighting can adopt a subtle orange appearance, while Bentley describes the setting as combining comfort with engagement and maintaining a driver-focused character.
Comfort Mode is designed to reduce distractions and encourage relaxation. Interior lighting becomes softer, with some illumination apparently switched off entirely. Bentley also refers to a digital detox setting that limits how much information is presented to occupants, making the displays less prominent as part of the calmer cabin environment.
Sport Mode takes the opposite approach by emphasizing engagement. Bentley says the setting provides a more immersive soundtrack and brighter illumination, with the teaser suggesting that some of the lighting may include animated effects. The company says the mode is intended to make driver inputs feel more immediate and reactions more precise.
Refresh Mode is aimed at longer journeys, with Bentley positioning it as a way to help address fatigue and improve awareness. The setting uses brighter lighting and places additional emphasis on fresh air, creating what the company describes as a lighter, cleaner and more invigorating atmosphere.
Alongside the Curation Engine details, Bentley published a new video showing more of the Torcal cabin. The curved infotainment system has appeared previously, but the latest material also reveals circular air vents surrounded by recessed carbon-fiber trim. Other visible details include a wood-lined center console and knurled switchgear.
The footage also provides a first look at the rear seating area. The seats use a two-tone design that appears to combine premium leather with microsuede upholstery. Black door handles incorporate a subtle B-shaped detail, while the Naim audio system uses bronze speaker grilles decorated with a geometric pattern.
The Torcal is reported to use the PPE platform and share elements with the Porsche Cayenne Electric. The two vehicles have similar overall profiles, although Bentley is giving its model distinct front and rear styling. Powertrain specifications for the Torcal have not yet been fully disclosed. Bentley has, however, confirmed that the vehicle will be capable of adding 100 miles, or 161 km, of range in as little as seven minutes.
More information about the Torcal is scheduled to be revealed on September 23. The source reports that the model is expected to reach the United States in the third quarter of 2027, with an anticipated price between $200,000 and $250,000.
