Also, the micromobility company that began as a project inside Rivian, is preparing to send its first TM-B electric bikes to customers after a delay linked to supply-chain pressure. TechCrunch reported that deliveries are due to begin this week, while an Also spokesperson told InsideEVs that customer shipments would start “in the next week.”
The first units will be Launch Edition versions of the TM-B. Also says those bikes are scheduled to reach customers from this week through the middle of September. The company had originally expected Launch Edition deliveries to begin in spring 2026, following the model’s unveiling last October.
Also attributed the revised timetable to strain across global supply chains. In a company post cited by TechCrunch, it said a rapid industry-wide rise in demand for raw materials and electronic components affected parts needed for the TM-B. According to the company, those conditions temporarily slowed the planned manufacturing ramp-up and moved initial deliveries beyond the original spring window.
Customers who ordered the Launch Edition are receiving compensation for the wait. Also is including an Alpha Wave helmet with those bikes and providing a $250 accessories credit. The Launch Edition TM-B is priced at $4,500, while a lower-priced base model is planned to start at $3,500. The two prices refer to different versions, with the less expensive figure applying to the forthcoming standard model rather than the initial Launch Edition deliveries.
The TM-B is Also’s first product and uses a pedal-by-wire system rather than a direct mechanical connection between the pedals and the wheels. When the rider pedals, the movement drives a generator that communicates with the electric motor. The company presents the design as part of a broader effort to bring a polished, software-focused approach to smaller electric vehicles, drawing on the kind of technology-led experience associated with Rivian and Tesla vehicles.
Also highlights the bike’s user interface, over-the-air software updates and modular construction. Its design allows owners to change components such as seats and cargo racks, giving the TM-B different configurations for personal transport or carrying loads. These features form the main technical and product focus of the company’s debut model.
The TM-B is only one part of Also’s planned product range. The company has also announced a four-wheeled micro van intended for delivery operators, including companies such as Amazon. In addition, it is developing autonomous delivery robots for DoorDash, extending its plans beyond two-wheeled personal mobility.
The immediate next step is the start of customer handovers for the Launch Edition. Based on the timetable provided by the company, the first bikes are expected to leave for customers within the current week, with deliveries continuing into mid-September as Also begins its delayed market rollout.
