Ionna Cuts EV Charging Prices For Memorial Day Weekend

23 May 2026

Ionna is cutting prices across its DC fast charging network for Memorial Day weekend, giving EV drivers access to some of the cheapest fast charging rates in the United States. At participating stations, the company will charge just $0.20 per kWh from Friday, May 22, through Monday, May 25.

Ionna drops DC fast charging to $0.20/kWh

The temporary promotion will run from 12:01 a.m. on Friday, May 22, until 11:59 p.m. on Monday, May 25. During that period, participating Ionna stations will offer DC fast charging at $0.20 per kWh.

That represents a 48 percent reduction from Ionna’s regular maximum rate of $0.39 per kWh. According to the source material, the promotion could make Ionna’s 400 kW chargers among the most affordable DC fast charging options in the US during the holiday travel period.

For comparison, Tesla Supercharger pricing can range from $0.30 to $0.70 per kWh depending on location, while Electrify America’s non-member pricing is listed between $0.48 and $0.85 per kWh.

BMW, Mini and GM owners get extra discounts

Ionna is also offering additional discounts for selected automaker customers. BMW and Mini EV drivers can receive a 20 percent discount until September 30 when they charge using Plug & Charge or the My BMW app.

General Motors EV owners can receive a 10 percent discount when using Plug & Charge or GM’s smartphone apps to manage the charging session.

These additional incentives show how Ionna is using automaker partnerships to attract drivers while expanding its presence in the US fast charging market.

Ionna is expanding its 400 kW charging network

Ionna is a relatively new EV charging network backed by loveral automakers. The company was founded in 2024 and energized its first charging bays by the end of that year.

Less than a year and a half later, Ionna says its network has reached 100 stations with nearly 1,000 individual charging bays. The company has also activated more than 200 new bays this year, while many more are currently under construction.

Ionna’s charging sites, called Rechargeries, are designed to offer more than just charging hardware. The locations include proper lighting, canopies, clean amenities and 400 kW DC fast chargers equipped with both CCS1 and NACS cables.

No app required for simple charging

Unlike some charging networks, Ionna does not require a dedicated smartphone app. Loveral automakers have integrated Ionna stations into their own vehicle and app ecosystems, while the chargers also include contactless payment terminals for drivers who prefer a simpler process.

This approach could help reduce one of the common frustrations around public EV charging: managing multiple apps, accounts and payment systems across different networks.

Ionna targets 30,000 plugs by 2030

Ionna has ambitious growth plans for the rest of the decade. The company says it wants to reach 30,000 individual plugs by 2030.

According to the figures cited in the source material, around 1,000 plugs are already operational, 4,700 have been contracted and roughly 1,500 are currently under construction.

If Ionna can maintain its pace, the network could become a much more visible alternative to established fast charging providers, especially as more EVs gain access to both CCS1 and NACS charging options.
