Great Wall Motors (GWM) has confirmed that its flagship Tank 700 SUV will be offered with a newly developed V8 engine, targeting export markets rather than China’s domestic buyers. The announcement was made by GWM chairman Jack Wei during the Beijing Auto Show, signaling a strategic move to appeal to regions where large-displacement engines remain in demand.
GWM’s decision to introduce a V8 powertrain in the Tank 700 comes as other automakers are downsizing or phasing out internal combustion engines in favor of smaller or electrified units.
