Ford’s $320K Mustang GTD Keeps Shopping In Other Brands’ Paint Booths The Mustang GTD costs as much as a supercar, and one buyer made sure his looked the part with Lamborghini paint https://www.carscoops.com/author/bradcarscoops-com/ by Brad Anderson 16 minutes ago by Brad Anderson Ford rarely offers bespoke paint, but the Mustang GTD is the exception. One owner asked Ford to match a specific Lamborghini purple exactly. We recently saw another Mustang GTD delivered in a Porsche shade of pink. Of all the colors Ford could have offered on the Mustang GTD, this one was never on the official list. With a base price north of $320,000, the GTD is the most expensive road-going Mustang Ford has ever built, and the reasoning is sound. Track performance lands in supercar territory, the experience sits as close to a genuine GT3 racer as any street car gets, and each one can be specified to whatever the owner has in mind. The owner of this GTD wanted one that would attract as many eyeballs as possible. As such, he ordered to be painted in Viola Pasifae, a Lamborghini color available on the Aventador, Huracan, Urus, and the Revuelto. Read: Ford’s Wildest Mustang Yet Ditches Paint For Full Carbon Fury While the idea of a Mustang painted purple may sound a little strange, it looks just as good on the GTD as it does on a Lamborghini. The color really shimmers in the sun, and the purple areas are nicely contrasted by exposed carbon fiber elements, including the hood and the huge rear wing. Viola Pasifae also makes the GTD look that much more exotic, particularly when compared to a black or silver one. Is This A True Exotic? mustanggtd_registry/Instagram There’s no word on how much Ford charged for this color, but as Autoblog points out, we know Mustang GTD buyers can pay to lock out a single color, meaning only they can use it. If this is the case here, it would prevent any other owner from opting for the same finish. Not too long ago, we saw a Mustang GTD delivered in Rubystar Neo
