Returning to the Turkish market like a storm, Chery's flagbearer in the D-SUV segment, the Tiggo 8 Pro, is a textbook answer to the question, "How do we sell a premium feel at an accessible price?" With its "Galaxy" front grille and Matrix LED headlights, it can stand in the parking lot next to its 3-4 million lira German rivals without looking out of place. Its 7-seat structure offers incredible flexibility for large families or people like me who frequently rush from project to project with teammates or clients in the car.

Mechanically, under the hood operates the brand's in-house developed 1.6-liter TGDI turbo engine producing 183 horsepower and 275 Nm of torque. As a former workshop manager, I found the harmony of this engine with the Getrag-signed 7-speed DCT transmission to be very successful; shifts are seamless, and it accelerates this 1.5-ton bulk without any strain. However, due to the laws of physics, when you drive a 183-horsepower turbocharged petrol D-SUV in stop-and-go city traffic, fuel consumption hovers around the 10-liter mark. Its comfort-oriented soft suspensions and VIP-feeling tan leather interior create a perception of luxury worth paying this price.
