This "Demo" (Test Drive) version of the Tesla Model Y, which rewrote the rules of automotive publishing, is living proof of how the brand convinces potential customers in seconds. From the old workshop days of debating engine cylinder volumes and gear ratios, we've suddenly been beamed to a world of "software updates." With its futuristic design and smooth lines, this vehicle looks like an innovative tech hub even when plugged in at the parking lot.

Mechanically, the LFP batteries used in the standard range RWD version are much more resilient to 100% charging thanks to their thermal stability. The 299-horsepower electric motor catapults the car from 0 to 100 in 6.9 seconds with uninterrupted torque the moment you touch the pedal. The calibration of the One-Pedal Driving system is so successful in city traffic that you completely forget the brake pedal. While the suspensions being tuned a bit stiffly to rein in the weight takes a small toll on comfort, the massive 854-liter rear trunk and that incredible 15-inch screen instantly make you forget this flaw.
