Audi A4
Review
Experiencing the final days of the B9 generation, the Audi A4 is the sole sanctuary for those seeking "classic German solidity" among vehicles drowning in digital screens in the automotive market. It may not have the sportstiness of the BMW 3 Series or the flashiness of the Mercedes C-Class; but with its perfect proportions, LED Matrix headlights, and dignified design, it is a true business person's car. Especially when you go to an official meeting or a high-end real estate presentation, the A4's simple and respectable stance never sends the wrong message.
Specifically for the Turkish market, the A4 primarily comes with 40 TDI and 45 TFSI engine options, both featuring the legendary "quattro" all-wheel-drive system as standard. From my workshop years, I know very well how bulletproof this 2.0-liter diesel unit (EA288 evo) is. Producing 204 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque, this engine, combined with the 7-speed S tronic transmission, propels the 1675 kg car to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds. The fact that it consumes fuel in the 5-liter range on the highway despite the quattro system is a true engineering marvel. While its cabin technology feels a bit dated compared to its rivals (it still has physical climate buttons, which I think is a massive ergonomic plus), the material quality, zero trim noises, and that famous Audi cockpit craftsmanship defy the years.
Pros
- Flawless material and assembly craftsmanship that defies the years
- Road grip in all weather conditions with the standard quattro drive system
- High torque and incredible fuel economy of the 40 TDI diesel engine
Cons
- Aging infotainment and cockpit design compared to rivals
- 460-liter trunk volume remaining small for sedan standards
