Bentley’s first fully electric vehicle will debut in 2027 as a more accessible luxury SUV, positioned at the entry level of the brand’s lineup. Rather than leading with electrification alone, Bentley aims to emphasize design, craftsmanship, and urban usability—key traits expected to define the brand’s next era.
The British marque plans to unveil and begin teasing its first EV in late 2026, with a market launch scheduled for the third quarter of 2027. According to Bentley Americas CEO Mike Rocco, the model will likely sit at the lower end of the current price spectrum, making it one of the most attainable Bentleys yet—though final pricing is still under evaluation.
Unlike traditional Bentley models known for grand touring and occasional off-road ability, the upcoming EV will focus heavily on city driving. Described as a new “urban SUV,” the model prioritizes on-road comfort, refinement, and everyday usability rather than rugged terrain capability.
This strategic shift aligns with customer research conducted in major cities like Miami and Los Angeles, where early previews showed strong interest. Bentley reports that nearly 80% of participants expressed willingness to purchase the vehicle.
Bentley enters the electric segment at a time when demand for ultra-luxury EVs has shown signs of cooling. Models such as the Porsche Taycan and Rolls-Royce Spectre have experienced fluctuating sales, highlighting the challenges in this niche.
To mitigate risk, Bentley plans to market its EV not just as an electric car, but as a complete luxury experience. The brand is investing heavily in research and development to ensure the vehicle delivers the expected Bentley identity—regardless of its powertrain.
Before the EV arrives, Bentley will continue reinforcing its performance credentials with new models like the Continental Supersports. Leadership figures, including CEO Frank-Stephen Walliser and board members Christoph Georges and Dr. Matthias Rabe, have pushed for stronger performance-focused engineering.
This renewed emphasis signals that while Bentley is embracing electrification, it remains committed to delivering driving excitement and high-performance engineering alongside luxury and innovation.
