Audi Q4 E-Tron Gets More Range And Faster Charging

03 May 2026

The updated Audi Q4 E-Tron brings more range, faster charging and a broader list of technology features to Audi’s most affordable electric model. The refreshed EV now gets a more efficient motor, bidirectional charging capability, new infotainment hardware and additional driver assistance systems as standard.

More Range From A More Efficient Motor

Audi has upgraded the Q4 E-Tron with a new electric motor that is said to be 10% more efficient than before. In the longest-range single-motor SUV version, WLTP range increases by 19 miles, or around 30 kilometers, reaching up to 359 miles, equivalent to 578 kilometers.

The more aerodynamic Q4 E-Tron Sportback now offers the longest range in the lineup, with up to 368 miles, or 592 kilometers, on the WLTP cycle. All-wheel-drive versions also gain extra range, with improvements varying between 9 and 20 miles depending on the powertrain configuration.

Up To 335 HP And Faster DC Charging

The new motor produces 201 hp in the base version and 282 hp in the Performance trim. Dual-motor Quattro versions now offer 295 hp or 335 hp, depending on specification.

Charging has also been improved on the top Performance variants, which now reach a peak DC charging rate of 185 kW, an increase of 10 kW. Lower-spec versions continue to charge at 160 kW or 165 kW. Audi says the 82-kWh battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in 27 minutes, while a 10-minute charging stop can add up to 112 miles, or 180 kilometers, of range.

Bidirectional Charging Added

The refreshed Q4 E-Tron also gains bidirectional charging with vehicle-to-load and vehicle-to-home functionality. Through a household-style socket in the trunk, the car can supply up to 2.3 kW of power, allowing users to run appliances without needing a special adapter.

This addition gives the Q4 E-Tron more practical flexibility, especially for outdoor use, emergency backup scenarios or powering devices away from the grid.

Updated Exterior With OLED Rear Lights

Audi has made subtle exterior changes to the Q4 E-Tron. The front end now features new LED headlights with customizable daytime running light signatures, a revised body-colored grille and a redesigned bumper.

At the rear, the taillights have been updated with second-generation digital OLED technology. Like the front lights, they offer a choice of four lighting patterns, allowing the vehicle’s light signature to be personalized.

New Screens And ChatGPT Integration

Inside, the updated Q4 E-Tron gets two curved displays measuring 11.9 inches and 12.8 inches. Buyers can also add an optional 12-inch passenger display, giving the cabin up to three screens.

The rest of the interior remains largely familiar, but Audi has replaced the previous squared-off steering wheel with a more conventional circular design. The new One Connected infotainment system runs on Android Automotive OS and includes an AI-powered voice assistant with ChatGPT integration.

An augmented-reality head-up display is also available. It projects navigation and driver assistance information onto the windshield as a virtual 70-inch display.

More Safety Tech As Standard

Audi has expanded the standard driver assistance package for the refreshed Q4 E-Tron. Standard features now include parking sensors with distance display, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition, attention and fatigue warning, and active front assist.

The active front assist system includes evasion assist, turn assist, front cross-traffic assist and autonomous emergency braking, giving the updated Q4 E-Tron a more complete safety package than before.

German Pricing Starts At €47,500

In Germany, the base Audi Q4 E-Tron with the 63-kWh battery starts at €47,500. The coupe-like Sportback version starts at €49,450. Choosing the larger 82-kWh battery adds €6,000 to the price.

With more range, quicker charging, bidirectional power and a more modern tech package, the updated Q4 E-Tron becomes a stronger entry point into Audi’s electric lineup. The changes are especially important because the model has remained largely unchanged since its 2021 launch.
