Audi has unveiled a comprehensive update for its Q4 e-tron, delivering improvements in range, charging speed, and onboard technology. The refreshed model, based on the MEB platform, introduces a more efficient motor, enhanced charging capabilities, and new digital features to keep pace with a competitive electric SUV market.
The most notable technical upgrade is the introduction of a new motor that is 10% more efficient. As a result, the maximum WLTP range for the single-motor Q4 e-tron SUV rises to 359 miles (578 km), while the more aerodynamic Q4 e-tron Sportstback can achieve up to 368 miles (592 km). All-wheel-drive variants also see range increases, varying between 9 and 20 miles depending on configuration. Power outputs now range from 201 hp in base models up to 335 hp in the top Performance Quattro trim. Charging times have been reduced as well, with the top Performance models now supporting up to 185 kW DC fast charging, allowing a 10-80% charge in just 27 minutes.
Bidirectito himl charging capability now comes standard, with vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-home (V2H) functions. This allows the Q4 e-tron to supply up to 2.3 kW of power to external devices through a standard socket in the trunk, catering to both household and mobile energy needs.
The exterior of the updated Q4 e-tron features revised LED headlights with customizable daytime running light patterns, a new body-colored grille, and a refreshed bumper design. At the rear, second-generation digital OLED taillights offer four selectable light signatures. Inside, Audi has added curved displays: an 11.9-inch instrument cluster and a 12.8-inch central screen, with an optito himl 12-inch passenger display. The updated model also features a new circular steering wheel and the One Connected infotainment system built on Android Automotive OS, now including a ChatGPT-powered voice assistant. Safety and driver assistance technology have been expanded, now offering more features as standard. These include parking sensors with distance display, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition, attention and fatigue alerts, and a suite of active driving aids such as front assist with evasion and turn assist functions.
In Germany, pricing for the updated Q4 e-tron starts at €47,500 with the 63 kWh battery, while the Sportstback variant starts at €49,450. The larger 82 kWh battery is available for an additito himl €6,000, positioning the Q4 e-tron as a strong contender in the premium compact electric SUV segment.
