Lynk & Co has introduced its first grand tourer concept at the Beijing Auto Show, signaling a new direction for the Geely-owned brand. The striking 2+2 coupe, dubbed the ‘Time to Shine’ GT, marks the company’s 10th anniversary with an ambitious leap from its traditional SUV and sedan offerings into high-performance territory.
The GT concept stands out with its dramatic proportions, measuring 4,780 mm in length—comparable to the Ferrari 12Cilindri—but powered entirely by an electric rear-wheel-drive system. Notably, the car features an innovative adaptive body, capable of stretching itself by 100 mm at the touch of a button. This transformation extends the front and rear bumpers and raises the rear wing to enhance aerodynamic downforce, while the suspension drops by 15 mm and digital displays retract for a focused driving environment.
The design draws inspiration from various iconic models, blending a profile reminiscent of the Ferrari Amalfi with rear styling cues similar to Aston Martin. The exterior emphasizes a long dash-to-axle ratio and pronounced rear haunches, highlighting the car’s sporting intent. Inside, the white leather 2+2 cabin is complemented by carbon fiber details. The digital cockpit integrates five screens while retaining essential physical controls, balancing modernity with usability.
While detailed technical specifications remain undisclosed, Lynk & Co confirms the GT concept utilizes an electric rear-wheel-drive setup capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2 seconds. The vehicle is said to employ an AI-driven digital chassis with a track-oriented focus, although specifics have not been revealed. These advancements aim to showcase the brand’s growing expertise in motorsport engineering, built on its achievements in the TCR Touring Car Championship since 2019.
The GT concept is currently a design study, but Lynk & Co has indicated that production could be possible, depending on public and community feedback regarding powertrain options. Should it reach the market, the GT could challenge models like the Denza Z from BYD, as well as established sports cars such as the Porsche 911 and Mercedes-AMG GT. This move would position Lynk & Co in direct competition with some of the most prominent names in the performance car segment.
