The Renault Twingo stands out with a cleverly designed interior that maximizes space, usability, and style despite its compact footprint. With smart storage solutions, flexible seating, and thoughtful design details, it delivers a surprisingly practical and airy cabin for a city car.

Creative and Functional Interior Design

Step inside the Twingo and you’re greeted by chunky, solid-feeling door handles and a playful cabin design featuring body-coloured accents. Soft rubber mats in storage areas add a touch of practicality, while simple yet effective design themes enhance the ambience without increasing costs.

One standout detail is the bespoke Twingo font integrated into the headlining, where letters and symbols are stamped directly into the material. This unique touch adds character at no extra manufacturing cost, showcasing Renault’s creative approach to design.

Spacious Feel in a Compact Package

Renault’s goal of delivering a “small outside, big inside” experience is evident. Large glass areas and an open cabin layout create an airy atmosphere, while the lack of segmentation between passengers enhances the sense of space.

The dashboard layout is clean and intuitive, with bold, easy-to-read instruments and physical controls for vents, steering wheel functions, and central switches. However, the right side of the steering wheel can feel slightly crowded, with the gear selector, wiper controls, and audio functions all positioned closely together.

Adjustable Regenerative Braking

The steering wheel paddles allow drivers to fine-tune regenerative braking levels. Pulling the left paddle increases regeneration for near one-pedal driving, while the right paddle reduces it for smoother coasting, giving drivers greater control over efficiency and driving feel.

Flexible Rear Seating and Practical Storage

To balance limited exterior dimensions, the Twingo features two individual rear seats that slide independently by up to 17cm. This allows occupants to prioritize either legroom or boot space as needed. Both seats also fold separately, adding versatility for carrying larger items.

Another clever solution is the split boot floor. With a 50:50 design, half of the floor can be lifted to access a 50-litre underfloor compartment, making it easy to store or retrieve charging cables without unloading the entire trunk.
