Porsche has unveiled the Cayenne Coupe Electric, now the most powerful production car in the brand’s line-up. Introduced ahead of its public debut at the Beijing Auto Show, this new variant takes the already potent Cayenne Electric SUV and refines it with a sportier coupe silhouette and advanced aerodynamics.
While the Cayenne Coupe Electric shares its core platform and powertrain with the standard Cayenne Electric, its design is more focused on performance and visual impact. The coupe version features a steeply raked windshield, a lower and more aggressively sloped roofline, and a more sculpted rear profile. These changes contribute to a drag coefficient of 0.23 and a stance that sits over 20 mm lower than the regular SUV, stretching nearly five meters in length.
Performance figures set a new benchmark for Porsche. The Cayenne Coupe Electric is offered in three power levels, with the range-topping Turbo version delivering up to 1,156 horsepower when overboost is engaged. This translates to a 0-100 km/h time of around 2.5 seconds, surpassing even the Taycan Turbo GT. All models use an 800V electrical architecture, enabling charging speeds of up to 400 kW and a 10–80% recharge time of roughly 16 minutes. The 113 kWh battery feeds dual electric motors for all-wheel drive, with the front motor capable of disengagement for improved efficiency during steady cruising.
Inside, the Cayenne Coupe Electric emphasizes digital innovation while retaining physical controls for essential functions. The cockpit features a fully digital instrument cluster, a large curved central display, and an optional passenger-side screen. There’s also an augmented reality head-up display projecting critical driving information. Personal
ization has been prioritized, with configurable displays, customizable graphics, and seamless app integration. An electrochromic panoramic roof and power-operated doors further enhance the sense of luxury and modernity.
Despite the coupe’s sporty roofline, the interior remains practical. Four adults can travel comfortably, and luggage space is supported by a 90-liter front trunk. The cabin’s layout strikes a balance between digital convenience and tactile feedback, aiming for an intuitive driving experience.
The Cayenne Coupe Electric will make its first public appearance at the Beijing Auto Show. European pricing starts at about €110,000, with deliveries expected from summer 2026. U.S. pricing has not yet been confirmed. With this model, Porsche is advancing its electric vehicle strategy and targeting buyers seeking both high performance and distinctive design in an SUV coupe format.
The introduction of the Cayenne Coupe Electric signals Porsche’s clear intent to blend its performance heritage with modern electric mobility. The impressive power figures and rapid charging capabilities position it as a genuine contender among luxury electric SUVs, directly challenging rivals like the Tesla Model X Plaid and Mercedes-AMG EQE SUV. Porsche’s decision to maintain physical controls alongside digital displays reflects an understanding of its core audience, favoring usability over pure minimalism. The coupe design, which proved successful in the combustion-powered Cayenne, is likely to resonate again with customers looking for exclusivity and dynamic style. As Porsche continues to expand its electric portfolio, all eyes will be on how the Cayenne Coupe Electric performs in real-world conditions once it hits the market.
