Lexus ES 2026 EV: UK Specs and Prices

10 Apr 2026

The 2026 Lexus ES returns in June as an all-new eighth-generation model, positioned against rivals like the Audi A6 and BMW 5 Series. In the UK, it will be sold exclusively as an electric vehicle, starting from £59,345 and offering a claimed range of up to 329 miles.

EV-Only Strategy for the UK

While Western Europe will receive both hybrid and electric variants, Lexus is taking a different approach in the UK. Reflecting the country’s stronger shift toward electrification, the new ES will launch solely as a fully electric model, with no combustion or hybrid options available.

Lexus ES 350e: Performance and Range

The UK lineup begins with the front-wheel-drive ES 350e, powered by a single electric motor producing 221bhp. Paired with a 77kWh lithium-ion battery, it delivers an estimated driving range of around 329 miles. Acceleration from 0-62mph takes 8.2 seconds, making it a balanced option focused on efficiency and comfort.

Trim Levels and Pricing

Order books open on 1 May, with three trim levels available. The entry-level Premium starts at £59,345, followed by Premium Plus at £68,245, and the range-topping Takumi at £72,545. Higher trims ad

d luxury features such as heated, ventilated, and reclining rear seats for enhanced passenger comfort.

Future ES 500e AWD Variant

Lexus is expected to introduce the dual-motor ES 500e to the UK at a later date. Already confirmed for Europe, this all-wheel-drive variant produces 338bhp and accelerates from 0-62mph in 5.7 seconds. However, its driving range is likely to be lower than the single-motor version.

Redesigned Interior and Technology

The new ES features a completely reimagined cabin with a minimalist design influenced by the Chinese market. Physical buttons are reduced to a minimum, replaced by a large 12.3-inch touchscreen that serves as the main control hub. A row of hidden haptic switches sits beneath the display, illuminating when the vehicle is powered on.

Platform, Size and Driving Comfort

Built on the GA-K platform shared with the Lexus NX, the latest ES benefits from increased chassis rigidity, improving both ride quality and responsiveness. Lexus claims significant gains in comfort, refinement, and cabin quietness. The new model is also larger, growing by 165mm in length to 5.14 metres, enhancing interior space and road presence.
