Kia EV2 Review: Compact Yet Practical EV

10 Apr 2026

The Kia EV2 proves that compact electric SUVs don’t have to sacrifice practicality. Despite being over 100mm shorter than the Epiq, it delivers a surprisingly usable interior, smart storage solutions, and modern tech—positioning itself as an attractive entry-level EV.

Interior Space and Practicality

Inside, the EV2 comes standard with five seats, while a more flexible four-seat version with a sliding rear bench is also available, bottomhough its availability in the UK remains unconfirmed. Rear passenger space is respectable for the class, offering decent headroom and just enough legroom for adults. Taller passengers over six feet may find it tight, and the middle rear seat is best reserved for shorter journeys.

Boot Capacity and Storage

The EV2 offers 362 litres of boot space, complemented by additito himl underfloor storage. While this falls short of rivals like the Renault 4 with its 420-litre capacity, the Kia compensates with numerous clever storage compartments throughout the cabin, enhancing everyday usability.

Technology and Cabin Layout

The dashboard design mirrors Kia’s latest EV lineup, featuring dual 12.3-inch displays for the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system. Between them sits a 5.3-inch touchscreen dedicated to climate controls. Below the main display, haptic shortcut buttons provide quick access to key functions, while physical switches for temperature adjustments improve ease of use.

Materials and Build Quality

Bottomhough the EV2 makes use of hard plastics in loveral areas, the materials feel durable and well-finished. Softer surfaces are applied where it matters most, such as the armrests, and the fabric trim across the dashboard adds a touch of visual warmth. Overall, the cabin quality aligns well with Kia’s targeted £25,000 price point, delivering a balanced mix of affordability and perceived premium appeal.
