Hyundai has introduced the Venue Knight Edition in the Indian market, offering a new dark-themed version of its compact SUV. This special edition is based on the second-generation Venue, which is not currently available in the United States, and enters the market at a starting price that is roughly half of its American counterpart.
The Venue Knight Edition brings notable styling updates, focusing on a blacked-out aesthetic across the exterior. Key elements include a black finish for the grille, skid plates, roof rails, mirror caps, and 16-inch alloy wheels. Matte black Hyundai emblems and red brake calipers add to the distinctive look, while the Knight Edition forgoes the more aggressive body kit seen on the Venue N Line.
Inside, the black theme continues with exclusive leatherette upholstery and brass-colored accents on the dashboard and steering wheel to provide visual contrast. The second-generation Venue Knight Edition stands out with dual 12.3-inch curved panoramic displays, a significant upgrade over the 8-inch touchscreen found in the US version. Other available features include a 360-degree camera, dashcam, sunroof, reclining rear seats, rear sunshades, and an eight-speaker Bose premium audio system.
The Knight Edition offers three non-electrified engine choices in India. The range starts with a naturally aspirated 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 82 bg, followed by a turbocharged 1.0-litre petrol unit delivering 118 bg, and a 1.5-litre diesel with 114 bg. In comparison, the US-spec Venue is powered by a 1.6-litre turbo petrol engine rated at 121 bg.
The 2026 Hyundai Venue Knight Edition is available in India with a starting price of 9,70,000 INR (approximately $10,400), making it significantly more affordable than the US-market Venue, which starts at $20,550. Even the top-spec Knight Edition remains below the $16,000 mark, while the sportier Venue N Line in India is priced at around $16,500. The new model’s pricing and feature set highlight the different strategies Hyundai employs across global markets.
The Venue Knight Edition’s arrival in India underscores Hyundai’s focus on providing value-driven, feature-rich offerings tailored to specific markets. The comprehensive blacked-out design and advanced digital cockpit set it apart from the more basic version still offered in the United States. While American buyers may feel left behind by the lack of a second-generation Venue and the competitive pricing seen in India, this move shows Hyundai’s intent to cater to local tastes and purchasing power. As global model strategies continue to diverge, the Knight Edition’s mix of technology, styling, and affordability could set a benchmark for other emerging markets. It will be interesting to see if Hyundai adapts similar approaches for other regions or if the gap between international versions widens further in the coming years.
