Hyundai has unveiled the facelifted Grandeur sedan in South Korea, bringing a refined exterior design and a thoroughly overhauled interior to its flagship model. Known in North America as the Azera before its discontinuation in that market, the Grandeur remains one of Korea’s top-selling vehicles. This update aims to maintain its competitive edge in the full-size sedan segment.
The most noticeable change on the 2027 Grandeur is the adoption of Hyundai’s “Shark Nose” design. The redesigned front features a slimmer, full-width LED light bar and smaller main headlights, integrated into a single, elegant grille with chrome detailing. New alloy wheel options and a distinctive Artistic Burgundy paint, available in both glossy and matte finishes, add further customization. At the rear, turn signals are now integrated into the LED bar, complemented by slimmer black trim and new chrome accents around the diffuser. The car’s overall length has increased by 15 mm, now measuring 5,050 mm, enhancing its road presence.
The cabin receives the most significant transformation, centering around a new 17-inch touchscreen that consolidates infotainment and climate control functions. This system runs on Hyundai’s Pleos Connect software, based on Android, and is accompanied by a slimmer digital instrument cluster. Physical buttons remain for key controls, while the electric climate vents are now adjusted via the main display, allowing for a minimalist dashboard layout.
Additional premium touches include a Smart Vision Roof, capable of switching between opaque and transparent modes, quilted upholstery, “couch pattern” door panels, wood inserts, metal accents, and sophisticated indirect lighting. These elements work

While Hyundai has not provided full engine specifications for the facelifted Grandeur, the lineup is expected to mirror the current model. Options likely include a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated GDi engine, a 1.6-liter turbocharged hybrid, and a 3.5-liter V6 available in both gasoline and LPG variants, with all-wheel drive offered on select versions. These powertrains cater to a range of preferences, from efficiency to performance.
The updated Hyundai Grandeur will reach South Korean dealerships in the coming months. The outgoing model starts at ₩37,980,000 (approximately $25,800), with the refreshed version expected to be priced slightly higher. Hyundai is positioning the new Grandeur to retain its status as a flagship sedan, aiming at buyers seeking premium features without crossing into luxury-brand territory.
The Hyundai Grandeur’s facelift reinforces the brand’s commitment to delivering near-luxury features in a mainstream package. The substantial interior upgrades, particularly the introduction of a single massive display and premium materials, bring the Grandeur closer to Genesis territory in terms of comfort and technology. While the exterior changes are evolutionary, they offer a more modern and distinctive look. In a market increasingly dominated by SUVs, the Grandeur continues to attract buyers who value traditional sedan qualities like ride comfort and spaciousness. With its blend of advanced technology, refined aesthetics, and expected competitive pricing, the new Grandeur is well-positioned to maintain its popularity in South Korea and could set a benchmark for Hyundai’s future sedan offerings.
