Audi has officially unveiled the A6L e-tron, its newest electric sedan tailored for the Chinese market. Debuting at Auto China in Beijing, the extended-wheelbase model aims to combine premium comfort with advanced electric technology, positioning itself as a strong contender in the upper sedan segment.
One of the key highlights is the A6L e-tron’s stretched wheelbase, extended by 132 mm compared to the standard version. This not only enhances rear passenger space but also allows for a larger battery pack. The 107 kWh battery enables a claimed CLTC range of up to 815 km (506 miles), putting it among the leading electric sedans in its class for range.
The A6L e-tron is offered in both Long and Extended Range versions. Certain variants are equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system delivering 543 hp (405 kW) and 779 Nm of torque. This setup propels the sedan from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds. Thanks to the 800V charging architecture, the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in as little as 21 minutes under optimal conditions.

Aerodynamically, the A6L e-tron achieves a drag coefficient of 0.22, aided by a subtler roofline and elongated rear doors. While exterior changes are understated, these refinements contribute to both efficiency and occupant comfort.
Inside, the A6L e-tron offers a suite of digital displays: an 11.9-inch driver’s cluster, a 14.5-inch main infotainment screen, and a 10.9-inch display for the front passenger. Additionally, digital side mirrors use dual 7-inch screens to relay exterior views. Optional features include sports seats with heating, ventilation, and massage, a dimming panoramic glass roof, and a premium 20-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system.

Pricing for the Audi A6L e-tron starts at 309,800 yuan (approximately $45,300), with the highest-spec variant reaching 439,800 yuan ($64,300). This pricing structure situates the model as a premium yet attainable choice within the Chinese executive sedan market, especially when compared to rivals offering similar electric range and equipment.
The Audi A6L e-tron represents a calculated move by Audi to address the specific demands of the Chinese luxury car buyer. The extended wheelbase and well-appointed rear cabin reflect the local preference for spaciousness and comfort, particularly for chauffeur-driven owners. Its competitive range and rapid charging capability are well-aligned with the expectations for executive EVs in China, a market rapidly embracing electrification. While the design changes are subtle, the technical upgrades and digital interior position it as a forward-thinking model in its segment. Looking ahead, the A6L e-tron’s reception in China will likely influence Audi’s electric strategy not only regionally but also in other markets receptive to long-range, high-comfort electric sedans.
